Clear Digest is comprised of a proprietary blend of digestive enzymes along with betaine HCL to support optimal digestion of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. This product contains the special protease DPP IV (dipeptidyl peptidase IV), which aids in the breakdown of casomorphin (from casein/dairy products) and gluteomorphin (from gluten). →  Aid fat digestion:

• Although fat digestion starts in the mouth with salivary lipase, most fats are digested by pancreatic lipase, which is secreted by the pancreas into the intestine. Pancreatic lipase cleaves these free fatty acids, which are efficiently absorbed in the upper small intestine.

→  Aid the digestion of carbohydrates:

• Some carbohydrate digestion takes place in the mouth by salivary amylase, but pancreatic amylase is the major carbohydrate-digesting enzyme.

→  Aid protein digestion:

• Protein digestion is initiated in the stomach by pepsin and hydrochloric acid, which denature and divide large proteins into smaller polypeptides. The pancreatic proteinases break down these compounds into amino acids which are directly absorbed by the intestine.
